Absorption and assimilation occur only when food has been properly prepared and thoroughly digested and when the villi and micro-villi are healthy and strong. Too often, foods are not broken down, and pathogenic bacteria rule instead of the friendly bacteria. The villi and micro-villi are clogged, weak, or even matted down entirely by previously undigested meals. Micronutrients are not absorbed and assimilated, but are passed on through to the large intestine to be slowly eliminated, making no useful nutritional contribution and wasting precious resources and energy; this is called malabsorption syndrome. This results in a condition of being overfed yet undernourished. You eat and eat, but never satisfy your hunger. Even worse is leaky gut syndrome (also knows as intestinal permeability), which exists when incompletely digested food particles are not transported through the villi and micro-villi, but find their way through holes or cracks in the intestinal lining. These particles are not recognized as food when they reach the abdominal cavity. They are immediately attacked by billions of white cells from our immune system in a battle that most people experience as fatigue after mealtime. This process has a wonderful Mary Poppins sounding name: post-digestive-leuko-cytosis. Literally, it means that after meals, your white blood cells attack and kill. The killer cells of our immune system are supposed to be reserved for emergencies only. If we accidentally activate them meal after meal, they may not be there when we need them. Malfunctions of the digestive system, such as malabsorption and leaky gut, can lead to a tired and worn-out immune system, which can lead to the emergence of many autoimmune diseases.
When our internal detoxification systems are not functioning normally, what happens to the toxins in our body? Sometimes they get stored away in fat cells and do not cause any immediate damage. Sometimes activated cellular toxins (toxins that have not been eliminated) obstruct the normal functioning of the cell. These toxins can transform cells into cancer-causing free radicals and interfere with the normal transfer of genetic material at the moment of cellular duplication and replication. This can result in the process called carcino-genesis--healthy cells becoming cancer cells. Always, when toxins are not neutralized and eliminated properly, they cause problems. A steady daily inflow of Simplexity Health nutrition products will nourish and support the normal functions of all internal cells and systems, including our detoxification systems. These products are essential nutritional biomodulators for the entire human organism.
Just as leaky gut syndrome occurs in the small intestine, it can also happen at any point in the large intestine. Proper whole food diets with grain and fiber-rich fruits and vegetables, purified water, and supplemental digestive enzymes and probiotics (especially bifidus) will support the garden within and the proper functioning of the large intestine. Thorough and timely elimination of all waste matter from the large intestine is essential to our health and well-being. When the intestinal lining weakens, allowing portions of highly toxic feces to spill into the abdominal cavity, hundreds of dis-ease symptoms will follow. Leaking of toxins from the large intestine will adversely affect our blood and lymph, and the normal functioning of all internal organs in this area of the body, particularly the organs of reproduction in both men and women.
