Joy and Dick Ohlheiser, a vibrant and active couple
Submitted April 2007

Could it be that the algae brought us together? Not in the typical sense. My husband Dick had never heard of this food until he met me. For some reason, soon after we met he started using the products too. Perhaps the products have kept us together in the same way they contributed to our coming together. I believe, from my own experience with the algae back in the early '90s, that the algae has influence over more than just our physical body. We are very serious about taking care of ourselves in every way we can-physically, emotionally, and spiritually-and this food and the whole family of products have been our partners on all three levels.

Our story seems very ordinary to us. We're told we're unusual for oldsters our age (77 and 79), but we just take it for granted. We don't see doctors because we don't get sick. We don't take flu shots, and we don't have regular check-ups. In our opinion, we just don't need them.

Dick is an avid golfer. He plays at least two or three times a week, and more often when there is a tournament. His stamina seems to be improving, even as he is getting older. He is a former Air Force pilot and has spent a lot of time on a sailboat. He plans for us to go sailing again, on a smaller scale. His mind is active with reading about sailing, planning for what kind of boat we should have, and pursuing various other interests. He also is learning to touch-type. He missed out on this at a time when one normally learns that skill. This past summer he overhauled our courtyard garden, which involved many tons of river rock. No need for lifting weights while working on that project! The courtyard keeps us both busy, and we're so grateful for its beauty. Sometimes the wildlife, including deer, enjoy the gourmet treats even before we get to see the flowers! (We fed PLANeT Food to all our "gourmet food for wildlife" and saw amazing results from one year to the next.)

We both are researching information to build a smaller, more efficient house, which we think will be our last house. I'm so glad our brains and temperament are up to this enormous project, thanks to blue-green algae.

I discovered when I was 70 that I had a gift for making jewelry. I'm involved in a unique art center in our town, and receive a great deal of pleasure in volunteering there and showing my jewelry in the gallery. I'm also exploring other art forms. I enjoy approaching the typical homemaker pursuits in an artistic way and am always pleased when first-time visitors comment on the good feeling they get in my home. I mention this because I feel that taking care of myself with the food I eat and the other choices I've made for myself have allowed me to be more of who I am, which contributes to this comfortable atmosphere in our home.

Reading on a variety of subjects enhances all my interests. The computer has been a great way to keep my brain sharp and to augment books. I worked in a busy doctor's office until I was 75, all the time pursuing all these interests. Leaving this life behind at that age to begin a new life as a married person in a totally new setting has been relatively easy, and again I believe the way I have taken care of myself has made that possible.

Pre-dawn 45-minute walks are a part of my daily routine. Along with the food we eat and the care we give our spiritual and emotional bodies, exercise and physical activity are important for us and we consciously tend to that part of our lives.

Dick and I are not the only ones in our family to have benefited from blue-green nutrition…our cat has eaten algae about as long as I have and, like her "parents," doesn't need a doctor. She's a happy cat!

Making Simplexity Health products a part of one's everyday routine is probably about the smartest thing anyone can do at any age-the sooner the better. Blessed is the baby in the womb whose parents are consistent with these products.
