Thoughts on Network Marketing
by Lauren Jubelirer
These ideas were taken from an inspirational talk given by Lauren Jubelirer.

Personal growth cannot be overemphasized. It is important to define for ourselves our own personal intention and vision. FOCUS on what you want. Revisit GOALS often. For example, continually remind yourself that network marketing can mean a lifetime residual income for yourself and for everyone you promise to help reach that goal. Like attracts like. BE POSITIVE. Most of your objections will come from your own subconscious beliefs. Deal with them in a positive way, and pass along that positive energy.

Though this may be hard for you to do, I recommend that you do not evaluate the business for two years. Make a plan, expect it to work, and follow through. Decide that failure is not an option. Don't rely on a back-up plan. Tell yourself: "This is going to work." When someone suggests that 99% fail in network marketing, just say, "I won't, because I'm doing what the ones who have succeeded do." Do not accept any negative influence. Your loved ones who are not yet educated on the benefits and workings of network marketing may try to "protect" you, and may implant doubts. Instead, plant successful thoughts, and then nurture them. Create a feeling of certainty. Know your VISION. Vision is about moving towards pleasure, towards the dream. My vision is to have: time, where money is no object; ability to travel the world for one year; and resources to start a foundation based on "make a difference" projects.

Know your COMPELLING WHY, the "hot iron" that gets you moving and talking, making prospect calls and organizing home meetings, then making follow-up calls. The COMPELLING WHY sometimes includes moving away from a path...perhaps quitting a job that no longer serves you...perhaps making more time for family. Your COMPELLING WHY can usually be addressed in dollars. Know how much it will cost, formulate a plan, then work to implement it. Goals can be, for example: car payment, mortgage payment, education fund, and home improvements. Remember: you need to pay yourself first, so save and then earn from savings. Learn the "nuts and bolts" of network marketing, or how to interview, speak, talk product, talk business, work with resources. Be able to answer the question, "What do you do?" For health: "I help people with their overall well-being and vitality by means of wild-crafted and organic whole food supplements." For business: "I help people create the financial freedom and time freedom they want through a home-based business." By coaching and mentoring, you help them create the life they want instead of the one they feel stuck with. Tell your product story well. Tell your business story well. Handle the "fear of rejection" with laughter, an exceptional tool that helps so many people in so many ways.

Know the BENEFITS of network marketing:

  • Work at home, when you want and with whom you like
  • Realize unlimited income potential
  • Enjoy tax advantages
  • Experience independence
  • Have no inventory
  • Best of all, achieve better health.

Know the four magnets of network marketing:

  1. Product
  2. Business Opportunity
  3. Vision
  4. YOU

Make a list of "Benefits of Network Marketing." Ask your sponsor for suggestions. Educate yourself specifically on what we have, and offer it with deep conviction and enthusiasm. Work at the pace that's right for you. But make the time. Make this business a PRIORITY.

Keep in touch with your first-level members. Encourage the business builders in your network to "Go Executive," to "Go Diamond," and to "Create Financial Freedom." Help those in your network who helped you create your financial freedom. Stay ACTIVE in the business. Set the EXAMPLE.

Know the TRENDS: These are similar to "pressure points" in acupuncture. Find the pressure point and press on it to allow the energy to flow, and the entity to heal. This involves listening for where they are in pain. In this way you can learn the prospect's needs, then meet them. Most people relate to one or more of the following:

  1. Baby Boomer generation
  2. Health #1 concern
  3. Antibiotics overuse
  4. Upsurge in Ritalin usage
  5. Concern about quality of food
  6. Organic, wild-crafted food awareness
  7. Lack of energy, resulting in muddled thinking
  8. 35-year-olds lost their dreams
  9. 25% of income toward credit card debt
  10. Two parents working
  11. Uncertain financial future for most
  12. Lack of time for important things

Focus on the prospect. It is his/her agenda. Listen to/for the person's dreams and goals, and add your enthusiasm. Strategize, using the prospect's warm list (acquaintances, friends, family); write down comments about how and when to approach each person on the list. Ask sincere questions, and then listen to the answers. Find out what sparks your prospect and match that to the benefits we offer. We're looking for people who are committed to changing their lives. Often we need to help them clarify and verbalize what needs to change and what dreams they want to pursue. Ask questions such as:

  • What's going on in your life?
  • Do you like what you're doing?
  • Are there things you don't like about where you are?
  • Have you considered where you will be in 3-5 years?
  • Do you have a plan?

Offer to share your plan. In your interview, listen for the person's values and how his/her daily actions reflect them.

Remember: YOUR EXAMPLE MATTERS. You are looking to improve your prospects' quality of life and help them build a business in only 15-20 hours a week for extra income, make a difference, and meet other needs. By living a caring, concerned, people-oriented life, all your work becomes win/win.
